- 1. GIRL IN MAXI DRESS DAZZLES ON DANCE SHOW I could not be more proud of my little girl. She auditioned for one of those national dance talent shows. I won't say which one, because I think that might be against the law. Anyway, if you saw her, you'd remember her. She was wearing a cute little maxi dress for girls. (This one actually) Maxi dresses are perfect for dancing in because they look so sophisticated and fun. And the fabric moves only a half beat behind the dancer, creating wonderful patterns. She tried out to some 70s disco music, which was perfect for the dress style she was wearing. I don't want to tell you she won a gold ticket with her piece, but I don't want to say she didn't win one either. That too would probably be against some kind of rule or judgment. - 2. usually try to make one when I'm speaking, is that she was by far the best dressed girl at the competition. She looked even cuter than some of the boys, but that's a ridiculous thing to say, isn't it. I mean, they weren't allowed to wear maxi dresses. Well, they probably were allowed, but not encouraged. Perhaps there was a by-law or something. I didn't read all the fine print on account of my eyes being poor. But then again, my whole body is poor. We come from Tennessee where there are more n's and s's and e's than there are job. LOL. Actually, I'm not really laughing out loud. I don't know why I typed that. I'm insecure and I want people to like me. Sometimes I think folks think I prattle on an on without really having much to say. But that couldn't be further from the truth. The thing is, a few weeks ago, or was it months ago? I suffered a minor mental setback when a flower pot fell on my head. Ouch. It certainly smarted.
- 3. Since then, I've had trouble focusing on anything other than a girls maxi dress. The doctor tells my loved ones not to worry. But believe me, they are. I mean, wouldn't you be. I talk about maxi dresses for girls night and day. I even dream about it. I have lots of pictures of various styles hanging on my living room wall. My husband thinks I've lost it, and he's right. Sometimes, instead of saying "I need to use the car to drive to the supermarket" I'll say "to drive to the maxi dress" instead. Then, when I get to the store, I grab a bag of carrots and say, "this dress will look beautiful on me!" I definitely get a bunch of stares when I say stuff like that. I wonder if I'm still as pretty as I was in high school. I was the star cheerleader back in the day. No, I wasn't. That's a lie. I was as big as a truck. To this day, I can't see a Dodge pickup without thinking, "Hey, that's me!" Then I imagine the vehicle wearing a maxi dress and think, "Shoot, I look good!" Hey, I have an idea.
