It isn't much, but this is the SaltStack slide deck for the winning presentation given by SaltStack CEO, Marc Chenn, at GigaOm Structure LaunchPad 2013. Here's the gist. The internet (cloud) is big. It is hard to keep from not breaking. Better automation tools are needed because not all cloud factories are created equal. SaltStack is software built specifically to automate the internet assembly line. Tom Hatch, founded the Salt project in 2011. He wrote it in Python from his basement. Salt is now one of the biggest projects in the world according to GitHub and is being used by DevOps pros and companies like LinkedIn, Hulu, HP Cloud Services, Cars.com to build the internet and clouds and to deploy, configure and orchestrate clouds like OpenStack, Rackspace, AWS, Google Compute Engine and more. SaltStack is 100% open, 100% platform agnostic, and available now as SaltStack Enterprise.
