This document provides tips for auditioning for PEEL Talent, an international performing arts company. It advises applicants to arrive early wearing appropriate, movable clothing and to bring registration details and backing tracks for their audition songs. Applicants should choose one musical standard song and one contrasting song that demonstrate their vocal range within the first 60 seconds. The audition process involves learning routines in groups and then performing songs solo. Suggested practice places include in the shower, car, or karaoke bar. The casting panel includes a director, choreographer, manager, and vocal coach. Applicants are advised to be natural and not overthink or overdo their audition.
6. Turn up early, in appropriate clothes
They may be your lucky trousers, but if you can’t move in
them, you can’t move to the next round.
Girls, we’re going to need you to bring shorts or a leotard so we can see
your legs along with dance shoes that have at least a 2 inch heel.
7. Boys, we want to see your arms so get on your favourite sleeveless top.
Bring your registration details and an MP3 or CD
backing track for your song choices
And maybe some water and snacks, chasing dreams is hungry work!
8. PREPARE
Choosing your songs is very important, you need to stand out but not
stick out.
Pick a Musical Standard song and a strong contrasting song. You’ll need
to demonstrate your vocal range in the first 60 seconds.
PEEL Talent auditions are more like workshops – everyone learns the
routines together. You’ll be put into groups to perform harmonies and
movements and then asked to perform your songs solo.
9. PRACTICE
Here are some suggestions on places to practice belting out
