Editor's Notes
- The Tweet (using regular Twitter for examples): real vs user name; shortened links; hashtags
- Clicking on a hashtag reveals timeline for all tweets using that hashtag
- @ replies = “reply” to a tweet. Begins with @username. Seen by sender/recipient/followers of both
- Mentions = anytime @username used in a tweet. Will show up in Mentions tab. Can mention multiple @username’s
- “RT” =Retweet (share) someone’s tweet. Some Twitter apps let you “Edit & RT” (e.g. TweetDeck)
- Regular Twitter on PC/Mac does not have “Edit & RT” option. Can only RT w/out comment
- Regular Twitter on mobile (iPhone) does not have “Edit & RT”, but has option to “quote” a tweet http://flic.kr/p/cgKfvw #AOAT
- DM = private message between sender and recipient
