The 3 Metrics that Matter
 If you owned a physical
    store…
     If 50% of people walked in and
      immediately left, would you
      try to find out why?
     Would you pay attention to
      your shopper’s behavior?
     If shoppers failed to notice a
      new sign, would you move it?
 Visitor reaction to your site is most important

     Do they leave immediately?

     If not, how long do they stay?

     If they stay, how many “aisles” do they browse?
   Do they leave
    immediately?
       Bounce rate
       Found in: Content ->
        Site Content -> All
        Pages
       Look at overall average
       Look at individual rates
        for popular pages
       Look at different periods
        of time (Getting better
        or worse?)
     High is bad, low is good
   How long do
    they stay?
       Average Time on Page
       Found in: Content ->
        Site Content -> All
        Pages
       Look at overall average
       Look at individual rates
        for popular pages
       Look at different periods
        of time (Getting better
        or worse?)
     High is good, low is bad
   How many
    pages do they
    visit?
     Visitors Flow
     Found in: Audience ->
      Visitors Flow
     Look at visual patterns
     Look at drop off rates
      and through traffic for
      popular pages (Hover
      on light blue)
     Drop offs are bad,
      through traffic is good
   “Watching” visitor reactions provides:

     Quick conclusions as to which pages work well
     and which don’t
     Easy way to prioritize your attention (which pages
     have the WORST metrics?)
     A way to watch for improvements (or lack
     thereof) over time
 Curious about click reactions on a particular page?
     In-Page Analytics shows activity visually
       Found in: Content -> In-Page Analytics
       Look at click percentages
     Easy to see what’s drawing the eye and what’s not
