- 2. IUPPS/UISPP IUPPS . INTERNATIONAL UNION OF PREHISTORY AND PROTOHISTORY SCIENCES WAS FOUNDED IN... The IUPPS – International Union for Prehistoric and Protohistoric Sciences, was founded in 1931 and is member of the International Council for Philosophy and Human Sciences (ICPHS), non-governmental organization associated with UNESCO since 1955. The organization aims to provide the advancement of human knowledge, especially Pre and Proto- historic Sciences, Archaeology and Anthropology.
- 3. WHAT IS IT? THE CONGRESS It's a international congress that takes place in every 4 years, for discussing trending topics about archaeology, history, prehistory and protohistory. It's an international Congress that takes place in every 5 years, for discussing trending topics about archaeology, history, prehistory and protohistory.
- 4. The XVI Congress of IUPPS will be held jointly with the XVI Congress of the Brazilian Archeology Society (SAB). SAB brings together professionals, students and people interested in Archeology in Brazil, but also several countries in Latin America. Currently over 1,000 members, SAB holds scientific meetings every 2 years. The partnership of a joint event aims to expand the lines of scientific discussion. Covering a wider audience, the event will allow new opportunities for dialogue and exchange of knowledge.
- 5. WHY? OBJECTIVES OBJECTIVES This event aims to reflect the modern archaeological practices as well as to promote the interaction with researchers and the society in general. This boarding intends to establish constant dialogue between the participants. They will be stimulated to form groups of quarrel, space opened for debates, providing enlarger coverage of subjects and results.
