- 5. Top 10 Gadgets #1: Motorola XOOM (tablet) The first device on Google Android’s 3.0 (Honeycomb) operating system. The user experience improves on favorites such as widgets, multi-tasking, browsing, notifications and customization and features the latest Google Mobile innovations. It boasts a dual core processor (each core running at 1 GHz), 10.1-inch widescreen HD (1080p) display, 2MP front camera (for video calling), and a 5MP rear camera that also captures 720p HD video. It delivers console-like gaming performance and features a built-in gyroscope, barometer, e-compass, accelerometer and adaptive lighting for new types of applications. The Motorola XOOM device will launch as a 3G/Wi-Fi-enabled device in Q1 2011. Starting in Q2 2011 the Motorola XOOM will be a 4G LTE/Wi-Fi- enabled device.

- 7. Top 10 Gadgets #2: Motorola Atrix 4G (smartphone) Motorola’s revolutionary Atrix smartphone running Andorid 2.2 introduces a new application that changes mobile computing. It runs a full Mozilla Firefox 3.6 browser and supports Adobe Flash Player. It also has a dock- port so you can sync it with your laptop or connect it to your TV. Motorola ATRIX 4G includes a dual core processor with each core running at 1 GHz, delivering up to two GHz of processing power, a 5MP camera, 16GB internal memory plus a microSD slot. Availability is TBD.

Runner- Runner-Up Smartphones Ups ¡ Samsung Infuse ¡ Sony Ericson Xperia Arc ¡ HTC Thunderbolt ¡ LG Black (Revolution?) *all of these are Android-based **Windows Mobile 7 has a really great operating system interface, but the hardware (and name) just isn't anything to write home about **interesting that Verizon introduced a bunch of Android smartphones at the same time but introduced the iPhone on its own, only two days later (which do they value more?)
- 9. Top 10 Gadgets #3: Vizio Theater No your eyes are not fooling you, this TV is super wide-screen. Already present in EU, Vizio hopes to bring the 21:9 widescreen standard to the US (the same dimensions as movie theater screens). While I doubt it will happen any time soon, it is really interesting to see this rather new player in the electronics space be the first to market. Oh and it is 3D too.

- 11. Top 10 Gadgets #4: Sony Bloggie 3D (3D camcorder) If anything will bring 3D to the masses, this will. The world's first HD 3D pocket camera, the Bloggie 3D has two lenses, two image sensors, stereo microphone and built-in LED light to capture 3D or 2D video and photos. This content can also be played back in 3D without glasses on the camera's 2.4-inch LCD screen or on any 3D/2D television/computer screen. And it’s only going to be $249!

- 13. Top 10 Gadgets #5: Sony Handycam HDR-PJ (camcorder) Share your videos virtually anywhere using the camcorder's built-in, high-contrast projector. This device can project up to a 60" (diag.) image on any flat surface, and stereo speakers will let you hear it too. Records 1080p/60p/24p with a back-illuminated "Exmor R" CMOS sensor for low-light video, with a wide angle Sony G. Record and store up to 91 hours of HD footage (HD LP mode) directly to the 220GB internal hard disk drive. Available in June from $699-$999.

- 15. Top 10 Gadgets #6: Nike+ SportWatch by TomTom The Nike+ SportWatch GPS is designed with an extremely clear and readable user interface. It adds motivational features to the running experience, including audible sounds, challenges, run reminders and more. The watch has only three buttons and a Tap Screen for navigation. During the run, the watch captures location information while showing runners their time, distance, pace, and calories burned on the screen featuring. It is scheduled to be available in the U.S. and the U.K. April 1, with broader distribution in July.
- 16. Top 10 Gadgets #7: LG Smart TV Since most consumers aren’t running out to buy a new TV, LG introduced a product that features all the benefits in a box. LG’s Smart TV includes all the ‘standard’ streaming services (Netflix, Vudu, Pandora, YouTube, CinemaNow) and adds Hulu Plus, Amazon VOD, NHL GameCenter, NBA Game Live, and MLB.TV. The Smart TV Upgrader is DLNA- compliant, so you can stream music, photos, and videos from a connected PC. LG will also have its own app store, enabling you to download new apps. Finally, the player will also be be controllable via a free iPhone/Android app, which will enable text input using your phone's keyboard. That's a particularly useful for the browser – much easier than using an onscreen keyboard.
- 17. Top 10 Gadgets #8: Microsoft AvatarKinect Microsoft demoed the next feature coming to their newly released Kinect. The Kinect facial mesh will be able to map the user’s face in order to create fully expressive and a realistic speaking animation in the game. This mapping occurs in real time and was demonstrated as-is 4 friends were sitting together (through their Kinect’s) talking about fantasy football. VERY COOL!
- 18. Top 10 Gadgets #9: Iomega TV (connected devices) The Iomega TV is the second digital media player to be released with the Boxee software built-in. It can be used as a DLNA server (to stream media from on your PC) as well as playing off of its 2TB internal storage.

- 20. Top 10 Gadgets #10: The ‘next’ Windows Microsoft announced that the next version of Windows will support System on a Chip (SoC) architectures including ARM-based systems. This is BIG news because opening Windows to SoC allows for millions of small, mobile devices to now run the world’s most popular operating system. Steve Ballmer said, customers expect "the full range of capabilities from any device" and Windows "will be everywhere on every kind of device without compromise." We are all eagerly waiting to hear more, but I can tell you that if you thought Microsoft/Windows was in peril, this is a whole new ballgame.

Most Beautiful Gadgets Samsung Blu-ray players (BD-D7000 & BD-7500) The BD-D7000 Blu-ray player features an ultrasmall design, looking more like an external DVD drive than a home theater disc player. It has a slot-loading disc drive with touch-sensitive buttons along the front. It's 3D compatible and also has built-in 2D-to-3D conversion processing. The BD- D7000 also has built-in Wi-Fi and can access Samsung TV Apps. The 0.9 thick BD-D7500 also 3D enabled and has the capability to convert 2D to 3D. Additionally, the CES Best of Innovation Award Winner features built-in WiFi and Smart Blu-ray, Samsung’s content streaming service, it will be available in the first half of 2011.

Most Beautiful Gadgets Samsung 9 Series (laptop PC) The 13.3-inch 9 Series features a LED- backlit screen, with SuperBright Plus, a 100,000:1 contrast ratio and true- to-life color reproduction (16 million colors). Made from material known as Duralumin, typically found in advanced aircrafts and offers construction quality twice as durable as aluminum, all while keeping the laptop weight under 3 lbs and an ultra-thin 0.64 inch profile. Price/availability TBD. *PS – it is thinner and lighter than the new MacBook Air (but who’s counting)
- 24. Most Beautiful Gadgets Lenovo IdeaCentre A320 (desktop PC) The thinnest, and arguably most beautiful all-in-one PC made, doesn’t come from Cupertino, Japan, or Korea, but China. Lenovo’s IdeaCentre A320 is gorgeous. Configured up to a 2.30GHz Intel Core i5 2nd generation CPU, a 21.5-inch full HD 16:9 widescreen display, up to 8GB DDR3 SDRAM and an up to 750GB HDD. Integrated 802.11n WiFi, Bluetooth, HDMI out, and integrated 2 watt stereo speakers. Price/availability TBD.
- 25. Most Beautiful Gadgets Sony ‘rock’ TV To be honest, no one knew what this gorgeous piece of glass at the front of Sony’s booth was. There are no buttons, bezels, mounting brackets, or anything else you would expect to see on a TV. Even cooler was how it seems to rise up out of the pile of slate. Yes, it’s that beautiful.
- 26. Most Beautiful Gadgets Microsoft Touch Mouse Apple may have been doing it for years now, but the Wireless touch mouse by Microsoft brings gesture navigation to the PC, for Windows 7 navigation. Execute many of the Windows 7 functions with various movements on the surface of the mouse.

- 28. Best of the Rest Microsoft Surface 2.0 Microsoft updated a new version of their Surface device with a bunch of new features and improvements: • Slim device. The new hardware is 4 inches thin. • A richer visual experience. With the rich color saturation from a full HD display and a larger screen, Surface offers a compelling, immersive visual experience that draws people in. • A vision-based touch experience. With PixelSense™, Microsoft Surface sees and responds to touch and real world objects. • Touch-enabled from start to finish. With Windows 7 and Surface 2.0, there is no need for a keyboard and mouse for setup and configuration.
- 29. Best of the Rest Glasses-free 3D TV Samsung, Sony, LG, Toshiba, Panasonic all showed (for the second year in a row), autostereoscopic 3D TV (3D TV without the need for glasses). Though cool at first, the technology just isn’t there yet – most people find their eyes to quickly tier and strain. Expect to see more glass-less 3D over the next few years, but don’t plan on purchasing one for a while.

The Razer Switchblade was conceptualized and designed by the Razer design team and incorporates an ultra-sensitive multi-touch screen with a innovative tactile dynamic keyboard that adapts and changes on the fly with the games being played.

It uses next generation ZINK Zero Ink Technology from ZINK Imaging. • Fuses the Digital and Physical Worlds: Featuring the benefits of a digital camera, instant photo printer and digital display. • Pays Tribute to Polaroid's Legacy: Reminiscent of Polaroid cameras of the past, the GL30 is clearly a significant departure from a typical camera. • Users can select from a number of filters and borders to create original images in the palm of your hand.

Best of the Rest Casio TRYX Thanks to its super thin (.59-inches thick), variable frame design, TRYX can adapt to fit your preferred shooting style to capture an image from just about any angle or in any environment. Users can hold the camera horizontally, in a traditional point-and-shoot style to capture still images or flip out the rotating, three-inch, touch-screen LCD and swivel the body to experience countless other positions. The frame rotates 360-degrees and can be adjusted so that the body can act as a tripod, allowing TRYX to stand on its own, or the LCD screen can be rotated up to 270- degrees so that users can perfect their own self portrait and see themselves in the frame. Users can even flip out and rotate the body so that the camera can hang from a hook, doorknob or other surface. The Casio TRYX's body can also be adjusted so that users can record full-HD, 1080 video (30fps) with the traditional feel of a dedicated camcorder, either in a left or right- handed grip or use it vertically, like a pocket camcorder.

Best of the Rest Nyko PS3 Move Perfect Shot The Power Shot houses both the Move Motion Controller and the Move Navigation Controller, giving you utmost stability, accuracy and control in all your favorite Move action games. The removable and rotating Navigation Controller dock allows you to hold the Power Shot in various configurations, good for left and right handed gamers. For additional stability, the stalk of the Power Shot extends out allowing you brace it against your shoulder for pinpoint accuracy. The spring loaded trigger provides a smooth, natural activation of the T-button.
- 34. Best of the Rest Casio’s Bluetooth Watch Concept Casio announced a watch using Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) technology to create a two- way data link with a smartphone. Taking advantage of the low power consumption of BLE, the new watch powers wireless communication functions with a single, ordinary button-cell battery, and without consuming any more battery life than a conventional wristwatch (battery life is estimated at approximately two years). Main functions: • The alert signal notifies the wearer of calls and e-mail messages arriving on the networked smartphone • Alarm and vibration functions of a smartphone can be activated using a watch button • A smartphone’s ring and vibration alerts can be stopped by tapping the watch • Accurate time information can be transmitted from a smartphone to the watch to ensure correct time Expect to see models later in 2011.
