Editor's Notes
As of Fall 2012, Blackboard is used by 98% of students, 82% of faculty, instructional staff, and TAs, for 53% of all course sections. Ultimately, this means that, on average, each student has approximately 4 course sections that use Blackboard in some way.
Hidden - Here, it may look like a decrease, but that also reflects a slight decrease in enrollment for the past few years. Total percentage of students using Bb has increased.
Hidden - Percentage of faculty/staff/TAs using Bb continues to increase
Hidden - While 53% may seem low, point out that this includes all independent study and special sections,
Hidden - This is the total number of enrollments across all courses. Given 21K enrolled students in Fall 2012, that averages to a little over 4 courses per student
We tend to think of 24/7 access as being about students accessing their course materials at 2am or submitting assignments at the last minute, but faculty and staff use it too!
24/7 access is not just about local – it is about global reach
Locally, we’re seeing a shift towards iOS and away from Apple! Peak use day is 3X last year’s peak day of May 10 with 4,690 logins
Locally, we’re seeing a shift towards iOS and away from Apple! Peak use day is 3X last year’s peak day of May 10 with 4,690 logins
In the past year, there have been 24,276 unique users of the mobile app. The app is used more during the week than on the weekend, and earlier in the day (use starts to drop off around 2)
